Cyber Academy and Heron Virtual Academy provide clubs, outings, and opportunities for students to connect. The HILL builds on that foundation by creating even more ways for students to learn, connect, and grow through in-person experiences.
WHAT IS THE HILL?
The HILL (Heron Institute Learning Lab) is a shared learning and community center for students enrolled in Cyber Academy and Heron Virtual Academy. Located in Greenville, SC, it complements each program with in-person learning, academic support, and opportunities to connect with peers and educators.
Participation at The HILL is optional, allowing families to take advantage of the activities that best fit their schedules and interests.

Designed with purpose for virtual learners, The HILL is a 9,000-square-foot learning lab in Greenville, SC, with dedicated spaces for elementary, middle, and high school students. Learning Lab Advisors and staff create a welcoming environment where students can build on academics, foster community, and develop confidence.
THE HERON INSTITUTE provides enhanced virtual education programs that prepare students for life beyond school-regardless of circumstance.

Cyber Academy of South Carolina balances personalization with accountability for grades K-12 to support academic excellence, college and career readiness, and meaningful student engagement.
Heron Virtual Academy of SC provides a supportive, individualized education for grades 6-12 that empowers students to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
The HILL provides a welcoming, supportive environment where students build confidence, develop meaningful relationships, and discover a love of learning.
The HILL is open to anyone enrolled in Cyber Academy or Heron Virtual Academy.
The HILL is located at 33 Villa Road, Suite 100, Greenville, SC. As interest continues to grow, additional locations are planned throughout South Carolina.
Students participate in hands-on experiences, activities, projects, events, academic support, and summer camps alongside classmates and educators from their virtual school.
Students are welcome to participate as often as their schedule allows. Parents or learning coaches should accompany students unless an activity specifically states otherwise.
